Your situation is a continual nightmare for me. Its the reason I don't use the cloud to store anything important - I use my own hard drives, and maintain a rigorous backup schedule. 2FA is a joke - I get my emails on my phone, like 99% of the population. 2 factors of email+sms or email+authenticator app means that anybody with my phone and the screen unlock pin has access to the lot. Or if I leave the phone unattended in an unlocked state. It's still single-factor. It is one reason I do not run my password manager on my phone, the risk is too high to offset the inconvenience of having to look up a password on my laptop. Of course, none of this is any help for you. Of course, you should have saved backup codes in the event of losing control of your authenticator. Did you? Probably most people don't do it. And you'll be deeply in the shit if you ever do lose your phone, or it goes on the fritz. Anyway, best of luck in your battles with bureaucracy and uncaring corporate overlords.
