I really think that the only way we'll get to what we truly want is with a custom system. Localization can all be handled the way *we* want, and everything can be written to work in a way that (hopefully) suits everyone.
BTW krix, you said it wouldn't matter about initng being big - yes it would, the bigger init is, the more memory it takes. init should use the least amount of resources as possible :P
