We normally don't use scriptlets to communicate with users. Arch does that, but not us usually. It's a little late to do that now. As for the automatically updating the menu.lst, wee don't know exactly how to update it. It could end up screwing up the user's existing menu.lst. So, on the automation front, we had no idea how to implement it properly in a way that work for nearly everyone. So, it was done so that the user would have to update it for their particular system arrangement. But I suppose we could have at least given a warning. Oh well.
