Actually sent this out last night but I'd been at the computer so long my
eyes were going, not sure where it went :o) Anyway...
Don't know what OS you have so the specific methods will vary. Put further
in your startup group (or use scheduler to start it back up), schedule the
system for daily reboots (or whatever time frame would work), let everyone
know what time it will go down so they can end their transfers then pick
them up later (or try to anyway).
With NT or a Unix style OS it would be easy since the networking starts
prior to ever hitting the desktop. The shutdown might be a bear but it can
be done. Found a freeware utility sometime back when I ran 98 that would
let you force a reboot from the command line. Ran it in scheduler to reboot
the machine everyday at noon.
A little hunting on the web I'm sure you can find something similar. There
was also a free tool out there somewhere that would periodically compact
your memory and free up anything that an errant or poorly designed program
left allocated.
If all else failed you could just stick it on a timer and have it kill the
power but that could get pretty ugly :O)

their upstream bandwidth cap has been raised to around 100KB/sec -
125K/sec.
This is consistant with what I've found using FTP clients and servers.
