What?! Why shold it be impossible! My Perl program does the same, but it
moves the daly switched logfile without any problems to a another directory.
And without to stop the firewall with cpstop.

- daily logswitch on 11:58 PM, a new logfile ist generated, the old one is
renamed.
- logexport with the old logfile
- move all files with names begin with the first charackters of the old
logfile name to
  a seperate folder.
- send the exported logfile to a another box with smtp to further handling
through logfile evaluation
