As an FYI, l tried a fresh install of IPSO3.5FCS10 onto the IP440, and the swap space was still 256Meg after the install.
oh well, l had hoped to upgrade to IPSO 3.7 from 3.5FCS10, but looks like it ain't gonna happen.
Am now performing a fresh install of IPSO 3.7 and am having show stopper issues.
After copying the ipso.tgz to the local disk (9 gig with 512Meg RAM), it tries to install the image and fails with thousands of messages saying:
/mnt: write failed, file system is full. tar could not create file ........ no such file or directory.
Do l have to format the disk beforehand? If not, what could the issue be?
Thanks in advance.

You are talking about two things NG FP3 and AI are two different things, AI can be seen in fact as FP4. I have customers running a HA pair of IP440 with NG FP3 HFA-320 ... They run just fine, I just had to scratch install them, not upgrade them, because they were installed a the time IPSO did create a swap partition of 256 Mb, which is not enough anymore ... As from IPSO 3.4 (if I re-call) a scratch installation creates a swap of 1 Gb, but an upgrade leaves the swap at 256 Mb. We didn't migrate them to AI because we had already a lot of problems to migrate them to NG, now they are 'stable' and will leave them as such ... Till they migrate from IP440 to a newer box type (probably IP380).
But the load on your boxes might be different from theirs ...
