I Just converted one of the customers from Traditional to Simplified, simply because as you mentioned, Checkpoint is pushing us in that direction, and I am sure that all new features will most probably be supported under simplified but not traditional. This is already true of the VPN routing through HUB configuration, which is way easier to configure via Simplified mode.
