Using the Upgrade_Export tool is the best way to do what you are trying
to achieve. I would ditch what you are doing and follow the checkpoint
docs on the procedure. It's a much cleaner method.

Subject: [FW-1] Secureplatform NG AI R55 Restore Issues

I am trying to do a restore on Secureplatform NG AI R55 for D/R
purposes. I have taken a backup of our production Mgmt Server and I am
trying to restore it in our lab for this purpose. I did a basic install
of R55 and then added the necessary components. Every time I try the
restore, it fails with the following error message: Can not complete the
restore process due to package compression errors. It does seem as
though the restore is completed (all GUI Clients, Users Settings, Ver's,
Files are on the Server), but I am not able to establish communication
with it. The H/W I am restoring to is different than the production H/W
that the backup was taken from. Could this be part of the problem?
Also, is it possible to do a restore of the Rulebase using the export
utility? Any help or Insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
