See if you have 'install' user in the etc/passwd file and if so, give it 'root' priviliges with uid of 0 or create an 'install' user with uid 0.
We had two MDS containers built last week and had to do this on both of them to work - rm'ng patach did not work. hth. Rajeev On 5/9/06, cisco4ng <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hi Eamonn, thank you very much for your reply. I already did that before asking everyone in this forum. The Sun cluter patch comes with 113713-19 so I did "patchrm 113713-19" and then rebooted the box afterward. Well, the installation of Providder-1 NG with AI R55 went ok but near the end of the installation, I got core dump (segmentation faulted). My thought is to use Provider-1 on SPLAT but I have a spare Sun Ultra 60 that I thought it may be useful as a test Provider-1 for me. I've done numerous Provider-1 NG with AI R55 installation without major issues until yesterday. Most of the time, I just do "patchrm 113713-18" and that will do the trick. Apparently, stupid Sun/Checkpoint update the cluster patch and now I have issues. If you have anymore ideas, please let me know. As always, TIA. cisco4ng Eamonn Twohig <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: hi cisco4ng, i read on another forum, where someone said that they had done the following to get around the problem u are seeing: install solaris 9, then install the latest sun patch cluster available; then completely remove patch 113713 (whatever variation), install checkpoint product in question, and finally re-install patch 113713 (whatever variation). the user said that the problem arose with sun patch 113713 when the revision went higher than 16 ... so 113713-16 was the last known 'good' patch for whatever 113713 is for. hope this helps, i haven't tried it myself as i'm still on solaris 8. later, eamonn -----Original Message----- Sent: 09 May 2006 04:56 To: [email protected] Subject: [FW-1] Provider-1 installation issue with Solaris 9 can someone help me with this? I installed a fresh full install of Solaris 9 on an Ultra-60 (dual 300Mhz CPU with 2GB of RAM). After the installation, I reboot the system and then I installed Solaris 9_SunAlert_Patch_Cluster.zip (aka hotfix) and reboot the box one more time. So far so good. When I proceed to install Provider-1 NG with AI R55, I kept getting error. I remembered seeing this before, something about the sun patch 113713-19 so I removed the patch with the command "patchrm 113713-19" and then I installed patch 113713-22 instead. I still kept getting error with checkpoint whenever I run the "./mds_setup" command. At the moment, my solaris box is clean because I ran the "cpclean" to remove all the checkpoint packages. Can someone help me out here? I must be missing something very simple here As always, TIA cisco4ng ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================= --------------------------------- Love cheap thrills?
