The fact is that even if you have a standalone installation, there are 2 licenses on that machine, is just that when you do the download from the UserCenter, a single file if generated, but once you load it via Smart Update, two licenses will appear.
Moving to distributed environment, the easiest way to go is make sure the licenses where generated as "central" and not "local", then once the FW module is in a separate machine, use Smart Update to identify which of the current licenses is the corresponding one for the Management and attach the other to your new FW module. The other guys are right (I missed that point before), moving from NG to NGX you need to go with a license upgrade on the SmartCenter and get a new file with the 2 upgraded licenses.
