Hi John, Myself and our web guy played with trying to get iNotes working through our Apache reverse proxy server. We have it working with just plain HTTP, but it really needs to be using SSL. There was just no way to get the SSL working properly through the reverse proxy, and I don't know much about Apache, so I am just relying on my web guy. He was kind of learning at the same time. We have published a couple of other web apps over the reverse proxy with no issues, but iNotes is a little bit pickier I guess.

I will have to look into the IMAP protocol, I was under the impression iNotes would only work if they had direct access to the server holding the account. Well, there was another option using a proxy to redirect clients to avoid direct inbound open ports to a server. This is the information we received from IBM several months back. We currently have a SMTP gateway server in the DMZ for handling communications with the outside world and was hopping to have the web mail pass through this but we have to have direct access to the internal mail server hosting the accounts. The only way I know of setting this up is use one of our available public IP addresses and use static NAT to forward the requests into the internal server for port 80. Not being a security expert, is there any other more secure way of setting this up with the firewall to avoid allowing direct access inbound on port 80?
