Well, For starters, R70 will require more horsepower than R65 thats for sure.
Furthermore, CheckPoint has moved towards a licence per-core model for a while now so if you are upgrading to a recent version, chances are you might or might not be using the full power of your hardware right now. A high-level indication would be to verify the CPU and memory usage of your hardware right now using uptime/top/fw ctl pstat commands for SPLAT.
