I Sync my Palm V with my Wallstreet the same way. As you indicated, I too
chose IR Port for my Local Setup and I always have Hotsync enabled as well
as the option "Enable Hotsync software at system startup. Now I just plop
the Palm behind the Wallstreet whenever (and wherever) I feel like it and do
a quick sync. The only thing I use the cradle for now is charging...and it
looks like I need to dust it off.
Taylor, if you experience more than a few hours of trial and error (let
alone weeks!) I would be most surprised.
