Single user mode is invoked by 'cmd-s', not just 's'.

In single user mode, you have super user priviledges, so the use of
'sudo' is superfluous.

Instead of training everyone (both end users and techs) in the use of
UNIX, how about creating ways to fix things like this without
requiring UNIX knowledge?

using "man <command name>" gives all the specifics about how a command works.

Using 'sudo' is no safer than being logged in as root; the main
reason to use 'sudo' is really just to make you type a little bit
extra to get that power, so you have to think a little more; it's
when you FORGET to type 'sudo' that the safety comes into play.

Any statements herein represent my opinion and do not represent those
of my employer. In fact, they don't even know that I know how to use
a computer. They don't think very highly of me, it seems. At any
rate, I'm probably just spouting off about things I couldn't likely
comprehend, so please just ignore me.
