Oddly, I've heard that you get better battery life from the 14" iBook vs. the 12". I think it had something to do with a higher capacity battery. As for the 12" having better performance, perhaps it appears to be so because it renders the smaller screen faster??? Hmm? Do they use the same manufacturer for the LCDs?
