Yeah, I had that happen too, as have many others. One of the owners of a mac
site also had it happen.

The worst part is apple in some cases is giving users a really hard time in
getting it fixed- and it is a very, very expensive fix if they just decide
they don't want to fix it.

There is a company that even makes replacement hinges with a stronger metal,
along with the paint to touch up the scratches.

Lol, note to apple- when a cottage industry pops up to fix flaws in your
design instead of adding to them, something might need to be fixed.

This is distressing frequent also, but they are pretty good about replacing
them. I've them replaced on a tibook and ibook now.

One thing though- even if the light insn't working anymore (ie, showing
orange for charging, etc) it may still be working and you can use it until
they send the replacement.
