It may not be worth it.  If you pick up a 400 mhz Pismo for 
~$900-$1000, add a G4 card for $300, then fork out $300 or so for a 
expansion bay cdrw, you are into some real money.   And you still 
haven't added the necessary ram and hard drive upgrades.   And you'll 
never have a Quartz Extreme capable video card.  I can't really make 
a strong argument for upgrading any older Powerbook, except that it's 
a lot of fun to pull stuff out and put new stuff in.
