I'd be interested in an answer to this too. This also happened to me, however it happened in September. I thought at the time it was because I had not yet signed up for .Mac and was still on the trial version. I didn't really care about the messages, since that is not my primary email address, but I was still annoyed. I was contemplating making .Mac my permanent email address, but now I'm not so sure....
