I have had one of these drives for the past year in an external buss powered
enclosure. It is used to record 8 channels of 24bit 96KHz audio from my
firewire audio interface. Works great in OS 9.2.2 but loses itself in OS
10.2. I suspect the bridge is not completely OS 10 compatible. As long as
you keep the drive active in OS 10 there are no problems. Yes the drive is
very quiet. I paid about 300$ last year from Bason Computer. Don't visit
their site if your are allergic to PC's.
