Followed this thread with keen interest. My third DVD drive has packed up. I've located one - apparently refurbished by Apple, for £190 - whose numbers go "M5505" and "MKESR8171". Do people think this is an LG or a Matsushita? I do need this thing because I want to upgrade the HD and need it to boot from.
