Gentlemen:Herb,
I did have those instructions and I had already tried the procedure unsuccessfully. I stated this in my original message as quoted above ("Apple instructs that it can be re-seated by...."), but I guess it was not completelyclear that I was following the step-by-step instructions.
My door on the back of my Lombard has been stuck (wouldn't close completely) for at least two years. I have tried these instructions several times unsuccessfully. However two nights ago I decided to really concentrate on moving the door very slowly back towards the closed position after I had pulled out on the center and it finally clicked back into the proper position. I recommend that you continue as well trying slightly different rotating techniques until you get it to work.
