I always thought it was for just the bricks, too, but I personally know 3 Pismo owners who had their yo-yo adapters replaced by Apple. They filled in their Powerbook serial number and Apple deemed that they qualified. Could have been Apple's mistake, I guess, but I think it would refuse you if you didn't qualify.
