You can replace it of course, as was specified in a different message, or you could just go to eBay and get some cheap PCMCIA modem, and use that. A lot less stuffing around. Not a great solution, I admit, just thought I would throw the idea out there. Personally, I would prefer the internal working.

The PowerBook is a university asset and has AppleCare, so it won't cost me out of pocket to get it fixed. I was just wondering if it was going to be a mobo replacement or not as that would increase the downtime.
