Do what your most comfortable with. Sleep or shut down. I sleep em' if I will be using them and shut em' down if I'm not.

I've just purchased my first laptop, one of the new 12" powerbooks. As far as I can find, the only advice before moving the powerbook is to wait until the light on the latch is blinking slowly (indicating that the hard drive is spun down).

Do I need to shut down before taking the powerbook to work, (car commute) or is it good enough to sleep and spin down the hard drive? I have a padded shoulder bag, so it's reasonably well protected.

Thanks for answering this newbie question!
