Is there any drawback using OS 9 programs under X start up machines only
Does performance lag under Classic mode

The benefit I see in OS 9 bootable would be 2 different system folders, but does this cause the machine to be slower and or create possible conflicts.

Lets see -

1) No, not that I can see. I removed the OS9 drivers from my Pismo hard drive some time ago, so it only boots in OS X.
2) Performance usually improves.
3) You'll still have a separate system folder for Classic, I think. No reason for conflicts or a performance loss, in any case.
