I'd use first Data Rescue to find data and then Disk Warrior to fix the
disk directory. Only then, would I resort to Norton to fix other stuff.

Usually, Disk Warrior will just get me the disc back without any losses.
Obviously you might not be as lucky as I have been, so better try data
recovery first. Any of the mentioned apps makes sites can be found trough
Versiontracker.com.
