Well, in actuality there are three issues, one is the over heating issue cited by "Bigbikerbo" here, the second is a cable routing issue causing stress on the video ribbon cable, and the third is an off shoot of the second where the stress is focused on the inverter board for said cable. Oh, but you knew all that right? Cause you are able to second guess Apple's actions on this so well ...

But in answer to your question, try google ... cause you aren't living up to your second guessing impressions. I know I know, I am being hard on you. I am doing so because you are being so hard on Apple. Ever try to solve a problem of similar complexity? There are only so many resources in the world. Now Apple does have a lot of resources and Apple does not always do right by us - anyone know a technical reason that my 2nd Generation iPod can't have any of the software updates the 3rd Generation ones have? Cause I don't - but really, complaining that Apple has done wrong here, cause why? It took them too long? Somethings take time, they can't admit the issue till they know it, and just maybe it took them this long.

Do you have a source on that? I'd be interested in reading more about it.

That said, the other real winner is ATI. The whole problem is due to a poorly
designed and faulty ATI Rage Pro chip, not by evil Republicans in the dark
folds of Apple... Unless something happened behind closed doors, those ATI
guys are the ones who made out like bandits--cause they never had to pay for
the
problem they caused Apple by selling a problematic chip, which overheats and
blows up every 18 months.
