Sorry for the confusion...I meant DVD +R...also the +RW's....Funny thing...Both computers will play home burned DVD-R but NOT the DVD-RW format. Yes, by desktop, I meant a Phillips set top burner that uses the + format dvd's...also an Apex player along w/a Polaroid 7" screen portable player. Also, if I put a burned DVD-R in the external LaCie, it plays perfectly...Likewise a -RW plays w/out a problem..
then these drives just don't like DVD+R(W) disks. no way around it - it's all about types of lasers, etc.
