CCC does not work across a network. You must have a local disk to which to clone your disk. You might try using NetRestore (also by Mike Bombich) but its learning curve is a bit higher. But it can clone a drive to a disk image located on a network volume.

I for one would recommend you get a firewire drive and clone to that.
