I reformatted using the original OS 9 system disks. I used the "zero all data" option and verified the drive after that and it "appeared to be OK". While still in 10.2.8 last week it was still showing no errors. After doing the basic upgrade to Panther is when I noticed problems. I had Panther running fine before but it was the 10.3.4 update that knocked me out. After the reformat and the new problems, I thought maybe doing an archive and install would fix things, but the installer will not run because of the errors on the drive. I sure hope that replacing the drive works. I love this computer so much.
