Another alternative is to install TinkerTool for OS X (you can get it free
at http://www.bresink.de/osx/TinkerTool.html ), start TinkerTool, go to the
Safari tab and check the "Enable Debug" and/or "Reimport Internet Explorer
favorites" options. Safari should be closed before you enable these options.

Start Safari and you can see the Debug menu next to the Help menu. Click on
the Debug menu and you can see the options to import bookmarks directly from
Internet Explorer/Mozilla bookmarks or manual search for bookmarks that are
already exported by other browsers in html format.

Besides enabling the Debug Menu of Safari, TinkerTool have other features
for other components of the operating system.
