Thanks to the good advice from fellow listers, my new G3 iBook 700's access to the Internet via Airport card works perfectly with my local network and satellite Internet access -- with and without encryption turned on. The $ before password worked. Reseating the card also worked. And redoing the password and setup also worked. I'm a happy camper! Thanks, everyone!
