Hi, I am just plugging the ibook 300 into the wall, with out it being opened or on. I am not using it while I am trying to charge it. I can get the amber light to stay on for about 10 minutes and then it turns green. But when I open it up and power it up it will not power from the battery and if the adapter is plugged in it will power up but either has a lighting bolt or an X through the battery. I figure I have a dead battery but had read several things on the net to try to get it to come back. So far no luck but thought it was worth a try.
