RE: one trick I know is to cool the battery in the refridgerator for a half an hour first,a hot battery will misread as full charged, also try to be sure the battery is completely drained to start with.as it may have enough voltage, but no amperage reserve

Hi,

I am just plugging the ibook 300 into the wall, with out it being opened
or on. I am not using it while I am trying to charge it. I can get the
amber light to stay on for about 10 minutes and then it turns green. But
when I open it up and power it up it will not power from the battery and
if the adapter is plugged in it will power up but either has a lighting
bolt or an X through the battery. I figure I have a dead battery but had
read several things on the net to try to get it to come back. So far no
luck but thought it was worth a try.

Thanks for you replies.

Pam
