Subject: DEAD FIREWIRE PORT Re: External harddrive From: shane hartley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Actually I think my firewire port just died!!!!! I tried to plug in my ipod
and then my external burner.... And nothing works. ARGGGH!!!! What do I do!?
In my old Firewire iBook, a similar problem was sorted by simply resetting the Power Manager and then restarting. I found the solution somewhere in the Apple Knowledge Base. Prior to resetting the little button, the firewire port was as dead as a dodo. After that, it worked without problems. Worth a try.
