Thye argument isn't whether there's a difference, but whether it's worth it *to you* - how much you move it around, how much you do with the screen real estate.


I have a 17", drag it to a couple meetings a month plus to every room of the house, and I'd never give up my screen real estate. I can work on a full page of a landscape legal layout, plus have all its palettes open in Ragtime (something I do every week for our church bulletin), wherever I am - on the couch, at my parents', at my sister's, wherever. An external monitor just doesn't offer that! Though I wouldn't mind that for the (very) rare occasion that I actually work at a desk. :-)
