My copy of Mail shows 5 megs???

I did a find command which shows it as being on the hard drive and command I , which shows about 3mg in size but can not get it do do anything.
I have tried repairing permissions and have also run techtools with out any luck.
I do not have the original OS 10.3 to do a reinstall.
Anybody have other ideas?
