It's a program in Python, PyDance. It *is* open source. But no one knows how to fix it. I don't know of any sufficiently functional equivalents.

You may need to install the current Python package from macPython: <http://homepages.cwi.nl/~jack/macpython/>, and IIRC there were issues with PyGame and Python 2.3.3...check the MacPython list archives at Jack's site.
