Hi Diane: I have the same iBook as you. I find that I use it more than my main desktop.....G5 iMac 1.8 gig.....reason is it's so comfortable to use (reclining on the sofa with the news playing on the TV right now). I also treated myself to the $99 Shuffle and I LOVE it! So easy to use and a joy to listen to.....Apple is the 'bomb'! Anyway, the reason for my response, I have a few OS 9 install CD's sitting around from old G4 purchases, if you need one, I'd be more than willing to send one to you. Let me know...no cost involved!
