Actually, if you do a good backup, there really is no reason to wait. If I was the slightest worried about instability (which thus far I have no reason to be), I can always just boot from my external FireWire drive into my old Panther install. Fortunately, I haven't had to do that yet, and Tiger remains a delight after a full week. Haven't even had to restart my PowerBook yet.
