Is the BlueChip a G4?

Today I had to set up and old WS with the BlueChip 500 MHz processor to use with an even older projector (this old projector seems to be not compatible with any of the Aluminium screen resolution).
Well after a year away from the WS (OS X 10.2.8) I noticed it is pretty faster than the iBook G3 500 MHz and not so slower than the iBook G4.
Opinions?
