I have a 12" 1.5GHz powerbook coming for a short test drive.

A coworker has an 8? 10? month-old 15" powerbook, he said he had to buy a g router for home use as the g card in the PB did not perform well with his old b router. Much slower than b should be.

He said his g router worked fine with b cards, but not the reverse.

He's running some model Linksys G router now, I'm not sure what he was using as the b router for the g powerbook.

The only 802.11x issue I've heard of with recent PB's was the TiBook had less reception due to all the metal, but they moved the antenna plus added autoconfig stuff (2 antennas for 802.11x if you don't need the one for BT).

Is this b router, g on the powerbook slowdown a real issue? I don't see much for google hits at this time.

Thanks,

Brian
