Yes both networks have Belkin in the beginning of the name. You're

You need t o set the wireless to join a specific network (the one
that you set as yours ) I am betting that you have your wireless
set to just join automatically to the network so that you do not
need to log on all the time. You can still do this but to a
specific network only.
Thank you Victoria, I do have it set up to join a specific network
and not to join automatically. That's what has been frustrating. The
neighbor's network router settings get imbedded anyway. I was looking
for a way to actually block it from incoming. The funny thing is that
his signal is weaker than mine due to the relative distances... but
this has not been a help to me.
Rename your SSID.. your mention that "my neighbor has the same
brand as me" is the clue here. Look in the manual for your base
station, and find how to rename it and the SSID that it broadcasts
to clients. More than likely, you both have the same SSID and your
powerbook is trying to connect to it's usual one, it's just finding
his by mistake.
