I use a 12" g4/800 iBook (refurb) that was purchased 18 months ago
from Apple. It has never given me any problems and I have been very
pleased. My only "complaint" is that it does get warm on the bottom
after an hour or so of steady use. To avoid the heat problem, I
either carry it in a "LapTrap" case or carry a CoolPad (roadwired?)
and don't worry about it.

I have been trying out some various apple laptops,
primarily for use as a writing tool, though I want to
surf wirelessly.
I love those 12" white iBooks and would buy a used one
of those in a heartbeat, except I keep running into
people who are having repair nightmares with them.
Are the white iBooks really just waiting to die? I
just don't want to spend $350-$450 on a 12" iBook and
have the logic board go after a few months.
