This is no joke... I found out the hard way.

By all means make a point of plugging the power adapter into the Mac after the power is live and unplugging the Mac first before turning the power off to the adapter... failure to do so can damage the Mac's power manager.

If your book fails to recharge or recognize the adapter, it may require resetting the power manager.
