One valuable aspect of having these feet is that they do provide a small amount of airflow underneath if being used on a flat surface. Simply keeping the bottom of the book from having direct contact with a solid surface allows excess heat to escape. Some of the books provide hardly any so if you are replacing, it might be worthwhile finding some just a little taller then the originals.

A few weeks ago I noticed on ebay several people selling replacement feet. Don't remember exactly where it was but some searching should produce if you need them. I'm also going to be ordering a bunch of feet (much larger) soon for a project so maybe I can buy some that will fit most books too while I'm at it.
