We just got words from Dan, the List Mom, about the top-bottom posting issue
and here is what he said:

" The rule applies regardless of the default behavior of any given email
client. We established the rule for four reasons:

1. It's logical. It shows the flow from message to response.

2. It makes it possible to read a reply without having to skip past the
new text to read the quoted material it's responding to. If the thread
hasn't been active for a day or two - or you've been away from email
over the weekend - this is very helpful.

3. Bottom posting forces people to see how much they're quoting and
should act as a visual reminder not to quote everything.

4. Finally, it's nice to have consistency.

This is all about best practices, not default email software behavior.

Dan "

So, folks, better get used to it. I am not happy to have to remind people
but we've been asked to so I'm just carrying on.

Let's not turn this into a debate as to whether top or bottom posting is
best, OK?

Now resuming our G-Books regular content...
