Hi Drew,

Can you use 64 MB of RAM? Maybe if your incorrect memory works as mine did,
you'll get half of what you paid for! The wrong RAM _worked_ great! No
instability at all! Noticeably increased the speed of the machine in
opening and closing files! And the computer recognized it just fine. Just
this little snag: the computer could only use half of a stick: it saw it as
half of the size it was supposed to be. Tattle tech recognized it as half
also. TechToolPro checked out the memory and reported everything A-okay but
didn't tell me the size of what it examined.

If for some reason I couldn't have returned it, I'd have just kept it and
used it; I could get by on 512 MB RAM, I think;).

If $19 for 128 MB is a truly great price and you can't exchange it, then
consider that $19 for 64 MB might not be so bad, either.

The DMS tech guy today mentioned the same thinking wrt my G3. Anyway, I
hadn't ordered the high-density kind; it just happens to have been what the
salesman shipped me, so there's no problem in returning it for me.

Maybe the guidelines are simply easy ways for any user to tell what will
work--a way that correlates 100% of the time with the correct technology
but doesn't describe it. Anyway, I think all such websites need a "Here's
why" link when they tell you what _not_ to do; otherwise, it is so tempting
to try it when you think you have figured out something that the advice
hasn't apparently taken into consideration. Incomplete explanations are
almost like posting a "Wet Paint" sign. Condolences.

Uhh, I mistyped that part. (Wishful thinking? I have a G3.)

Well, good luck on a satisfactory conclusion, Drew.
