Mary,

Actually, that's just what I was thinking. The RAM I ordered was a 256MB
part, so even if only half works, I'll still have 128MB. And 128MB for $19
isn't bad at all.

By the way, if anyone here _doesn't_ know about pricewatch.com yet, where
have you been? heh, I mean, let me fill you in! ;-)

Pricewatch.com is a search engine that allows you to search for just about
any part you could need (HDs, CD-ROM/R/RW, DVD-ROM/R/RAM, RAM for just about
any computer ever made, etc), but it's PC centric. (Go figure). It's sort
of like Ramseeker.com, but it lists soooo much more than RAM Seeker and has
a wider selection on RAM. And you can find some awesome deals! Yesterday a
stick of 128MB of PC100 SDRAM was just $10! Of course, that's low grade
generic RAM, but these days even generic RAM is reliable... And most carry
a warantee of some sort.

It's worth a look, anyway.

Thanks for the thoughts!
Peace,
Drew

Hi Drew,

Can you use 64 MB of RAM? Maybe if your incorrect memory works as mine did,
you'll get half of what you paid for! The wrong RAM _worked_ great! No
instability at all! Noticeably increased the speed of the machine in
opening and closing files! And the computer recognized it just fine. Just
this little snag: the computer could only use half of a stick: it saw it as
half of the size it was supposed to be. Tattle tech recognized it as half
also. TechToolPro checked out the memory and reported everything A-okay but
didn't tell me the size of what it examined.
[snip]
If $19 for 128 MB is a truly great price and you can't exchange it, then
consider that $19 for 64 MB might not be so bad, either.
