George,

When I got my rev 1 B&W, I was so hot to have a second internal HD that I
paid $129 in Nov., 1999 for the ProMax TurboMax PCI card that made a second
drive simple to install, and it could handle three more drives, as is. BTW,
the sales rep was very knowledgeable and patient, and ProMax used to
contribute a lot to the old B&W list.

I just checked their site (http://www.promax.com/) but didn't see the
TurboMax card sold separately anymore, just bundled with 1, 2, 4 or 5 IBM
drives. Of course, buying one of their HD and card bundles would guarantee
that it WOULD work. How about a 40 MB and card for US$279, or five (5!) 75 MB
drives, card and bracket for G3/G4 for a mere US$1,734. Their main focus is
on high-end video users, which I am not, but they sure treated me well.

To be sure I installed my first internal drive right, I used the great
information and graphics at
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/G3-ZONE/index.html

Another thought: if I were buying another hard drive now, I would seriously
consider an external FireWire drive, so when I replace my trusty B&W....

Good luck!

Steve Wood
